Okay, well this happened to me a few weeks ago (July 9, 2004 to be exact), but I'll write about it anyway becuase it is the sweetest thing that has ever happened to me (and i just started this live journal yesterday). i was at girl scout camp (camp wood haven) and was really sad because my parents don't talk to me. i was cutting and had all these scars across my arms. i tried to hide them, but its pretty hard- we were swimming, it was hot, and the scars are pretty vivid. i don't know if she knew about the scars, but my one counselor was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (her camp name was Willie) and she seemed like she liked me (at least i hope so...). I assume that she did know about my cutting because she seemed to have a special connection to me by the end of the week - like when someone knows something about you that you didn't tell them and it's personal. On the last day of camp, i was so sad that i would have to go back to the hell-hole i call home-i knew that i was going to miss her like crazy so... when my parents came, i went completely crazy and she came over and i hugged her for like a minute. I must have really freaked her out, and if by any weird chance she ever reads this, i just want to say that I AM VERY SORRY WILLIE- it's just that you are awesome and i really like you! I walked slowly to my car after that and i was practically crying. It turns out she was standing right there talking to my parents- she gave me a necklace called a "monkey's fist" -its a symbol of friendship- I thought that was soooooooooo cute! (yeah, laugh all you want, it is corny, but it was really special to me). I think that she is the coolest!!!!!!!! Thank you for being so awesome- i hope i'll see you again REBECCA!!!!!!! Haha... i love calling you that because you hate your full name so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
